What to do if the display does not turn on or does not respond to commands?

In some situations, the display may not turn on or respond to commands—neither remotely via Livesignage nor locally using the remote control. Even though the issue is not caused by Livesignage, it's useful to know how to perform a basic recovery.

1. Check the power supply

Before doing anything else:
  1. Make sure the power outlet is intact and working.
  2. Ensure that all cables and the power adapter are properly connected and show no visible damage.
  3. If the display is connected to a power strip or UPS, check that they are turned on and functioning.

2. Unplug and replug the power

If everything seems properly connected:
  1. Unplug the display from power for at least 30 seconds.
  2. Plug the power cable back in and check if the display restarts properly.

3. For displays with a physical power button (e.g., Yiama)

Some models have a physical button that can be used to force a restart:
  1. With the display off and unplugged, press the physical power button three times in a row.
  2. Then reconnect the power.
This action can help discharge the internal components (such as capacitors), enabling a full and clean restart.

4. If the problem persists

If the display still doesn't respond after these steps:
  1. Contact your trusted technician or the hardware reseller who handled the installation.
  2. The issue may be hardware-related or due to the display’s firmware.
