What to do if the content is not updating on the display?

If you’ve just updated scheduled content on a display and don’t see any changes, don’t worry: in many cases this behavior is expected and easily fixable.

Content doesn’t update immediately: here’s why

When you add a new slide to an already scheduled playlist:
  1. Livesignage first downloads the new content.
  2. Then it waits until the end of the current playlist cycle before displaying it.
This behavior ensures smooth transitions without interruptions for the end user.

Check if the display is downloading content

Have you enabled the loader?
  1. A loading icon will appear on the right side of the screen.
  2. When the icon disappears, it means the content has been successfully downloaded.
Didn’t enable the loader?
You can do it anytime:
  1. Go to the display detail page.
  2. Click on “Advanced settings.”
  3. Enable the “Show loader” toggle.

Want to see updated content immediately?

Once the download is complete, if you want to immediately force the new content to display:

Click on “Restart programming” from the display detail page.

Ensure the display is online

All these actions are only possible if the display is online. If the display is unreachable, refer to the dedicated guide:

Still not updating?

If after all these checks the display still doesn’t show the new content, a manual intervention is required directly on the display using the remote control.
The procedure consists of uninstalling and reinstalling the Livesignage app.
