Is there a file size limit for images?

Livesignage does not enforce a strict file size limit for images. You can upload files of any size, but for best performance we recommend keeping each image under 5 MB.
There’s no maximum number of images you can upload, but remember: the larger the file, the longer it takes to upload and display, especially on lower-memory devices.

Why it matters

While the platform itself has no upload restrictions, each physical display has limited internal memory (usually around 4 GB).
If you use several high-resolution images or combine them with video-heavy slides—you may experience delays, playback issues, or screen crashes.

Best practices

  • Aim for images under 5 MB
  • Avoid going over 10 MB per image, unless strictly necessary
  • Use 1920×1080 px resolution for 16:9 screens, or 1080×1080 px for square templates
  • Prefer JPG for performance, PNG only when transparency is needed
  • Compress or optimize images before uploading
