Livesignage supports MP4 video files encoded with H.264 for video and AAC for audio.
To ensure smooth playback and maximum compatibility, your video files should follow these guidelines:

Supported format:

  1. MP4 (with H.264 video codec and AAC audio codec)

Not supported formats

  1. MOV
  2. AVI
  3. MKV
  4. WMV
  5. FLV
  6. WebM
If your video is not in the correct format, make sure to convert it to MP4 with the proper codecs before uploading.
  1. Resolution: 1920×1080 px (Full HD) – standard for most templates
  2. Frame rate: 23.9 fps
  3. Max file size:  1 GB for simple slides, unlimited through the media library
  4. Duration: No hard limit, but longer videos = larger files. The important thing is staying under the 500 MB limit.

Important memory considerations

Livesignage has no upload limit, so you can add as many video files as you like.
However, keep in mind that each physical display has limited storage, so check your model’s storage specification.

This means it’s essential to monitor the total file size of your playlist. For example, if you upload 20 video-based slides, the display may struggle to load or even crash due to memory overload.

Best practice: Always balance your content types (images, apps, videos) and check the total storage used before pushing your playlist live.
