Compatibility
The procedures described in this document apply to the following models: XC5, XT5, XD5, HD5, LS5, AU5.
Preliminary Operations
First, complete the device reset by pressing and holding the SVC and RESET buttons simultaneously.
Before powering on the device, format a microSD card using the exFAT file system.
Installation
Log in to your BrightAuthor:connected account or create a new one.
In the Admin -> Setup section, create a new setup.
Enter the following details in the designated screen:
- Device Name
- Set the desired timezone
In the Publishing Mode field, select Web folder.
For portrait display
For landscape display
For the AU5 model
- Set the update check frequency to 5 minutes.
- Do not enter login credentials for the Web Folder.
- Do not check the Basic Authentication option.
- In the Network Configuration field, select Include Network Configuration.
On the Wireless page, if a Wi-Fi network is available and you want to make it accessible to the media player, enable the "Enable Wireless Networking" option. Then, enter the Wi-Fi network login credentials.
From the Network Options menu, go to Player -> Host Configuration -> Interface Priority to set the priority of the network interfaces to be used.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
- To use the device over a Wi-Fi network, you must install the BrightSign Wireless Module Series 5.
- In Player Settings -> Advanced, you can enable BSN.cloud to easily manage devices from BrightAuthor:connected.
You can save the setup in the library to reuse it on multiple devices quickly and easily.
Save the setup to the previously initialized microSD card and insert it into the device.
The device will download all the necessary files and start Livesignage.
On the first boot, you will see the Livesignage logo followed by a token for pairing.
