How do I update the firmware of my displays via Livesignage?
Livesignage allows you to manage firmware updates for some supported display types. The update methods available for each supported manufacturer are listed below.
Samsung – Firmware Update
How to Update a Samsung Display
Download the Firmware
Go to the official Samsung website and search for your display model.
Example for model QB24C: Download Firmware QB24C

Extract the .bem
File
After downloading the archive, extract it. You will find a file with the .bem
extension.
Upload the File to an Accessible Server
The .bem
file must be uploaded to a server that is accessible by the display (either public or on a local network).
Perform the Update via Livesignage
Access the display's detail page in Livesignage.
Go to “Advanced Settings”.
Click on “Update Firmware”.

Fill in the Update Form with the Following Information:
URL of the .bem
file: e.g. https://mysite.com/update.bem
Name of the .bem
file: e.g. update.bem
Firmware version: e.g. S-KSU2EWWC_1110.8
File size in bytes: e.g. 1420913655
LG – Firmware Update
- Download the Firmware
Go to the LG portal, enter your display model in the “Keyword” field, and download the corresponding firmware.

- Extract the
.epk
File
After unzipping the downloaded archive, you will find a file with the .epk
extension. - Upload the File to an Accessible Server
As with Samsung, the .epk
file must be available on a server accessible by the display (public or local network). - Perform the Update via Livesignage
- Access the display's detail page in Livesignage.
- Go to “Advanced Settings”.
- Click on “Update Firmware”.

- In the modal that appears, enter the URL of the
.epk
file.
Devices not supported for firmware update
Currently, Livesignage does not support remote firmware upgrade for the following devices:
- Philips
- ChromeOS
- Android
- BrightSign
- Samsung (solo SSSP4)
For these devices, any firmware updates must be done manually or via the manufacturer's official tools.

- Always check the firmware compatibility with the exact model of your display.
- Make sure the firmware file is intact and the size in bytes matches the actual file.
