Device Owner Setup

To ensure proper functionality, you need to connect the device via ADB and set the app as the device owner using the following command:

  1. adb shell dpm set-device-owner com.livedigitalsignage.android/.MyDeviceAdminReceiver

Troubleshooting Steps

If you're unable to complete the installation, please review the following checklist to rule out common issues:
  1. APK Download Verification
Ensure the APK was correctly downloaded from:
    πŸ‘‰
    https://myls.io/android/ls.apk

  2. Installation Status
Confirm that the app is properly installed on the device.

  3. Google Account Configuration
Make sure the device does not have any active Google account.
If an account is present, remove it before installation.

  4. Conflicting Applications
Check for other apps that manage kiosk mode or device admin permissions.
These should be removed before proceeding.

  5. Factory Reset (if needed)
If the above steps don’t work:

    1. Perform a factory reset
    2. After the reset, before installing anything else:
      1. Install the Livesignage app
      2. Run the ADB command to set it as device owner

Important Notes

  • Always perform the factory reset before installing the app if other troubleshooting steps fail

  • Run the device owner command only after a clean install

  • Ensure there are no conflicting device management apps on the device

2. Google Play Store

You can also install the app via the Google Play Store:
πŸ‘‰
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.livedigitalsignage.android
Please note:
  1. The app will not auto-update if installed via the Play Store
  2. MDM (Mobile Device Management) is required to enable Kiosk Mode with this method

Device Pairing

In both installation methods, once the app is launched, the display will show a pairing code to be entered in the Livesignage backoffice to complete setup.
